JUNE 2, 2021 – On Wednesday June 9, Seekonk Speedway will be the site of ISMA’s first racing event of the season. Located in Seekonk, Mass., the 1/3 mile oval has been the site of nine exciting ISMA races going back to 1996 when Mike Ordway Sr. drove to victory in a spring 75 lapper.
The win list over the years includes Chris Perley in 2001, Lou Cicconi in 2002, Bentley Warren and Chris Perley taking the 2003 shows, Rick Wenworth in 2004, Chris Perley 2005, Johnny Benson Jr. in 2010 and 2011. Weather shut down the 2012 event, the last race scheduled there for the ISMA group.
Seekonk and ISMA are back in action next week with the ISMA winged warriors ready to hit the pavement for a 100 lap event in conjunction with the NEMA Boston Louie traditional race. NEMA Lites are also on the bill. Incidentally ISMA pilot Jeff Abold has won three Boston Louie events driving for Bob Seyour over the years. The talented Abold also has 4 NEMA and 4 USAC wins to his credit and possibly holds the track record (not verified).
Wednesday, June 9 Seekonk Race Schedule:
12pm: Pits Open
3-5pm: Practice rotation for all 3 groups
6:30: Racing begins
