September 21, 2018 - As we near the end of the 2018 ISMA season coming this October 13-14 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park's World Series of Speedway Racing, we're going recap the current top 10 in ISMA Owner point standings leading up to the season finale!
Entering Thompson, Dan Soule and Soule Racing's beautiful blue No. 32 with Massachusetts driver Ben Seitz sit 10th in the standings.
Both Soule and Seitz returned to ISMA this year after a hiatus. The iconic blue 32 hadn't raced since a hard crash at the Star Classic in September 2013. After four years away, the team completed their new NEMRS chassis this past winter and tagged Seitz to drive.
The 2014 ISMA Driver champion had been out of a ride the latter half of 2017 but would find another top supermodified to wheel with the Central New York-based Soule team prior to the open of this year. After struggling to find a handle on the 32 at opening events this spring, the Seitz and the Soule 32 have come on strong throughout the summer stretch, starting with a 5th-place run at Sandusky's Friday Fast 40 and a fine 3rd-place finish the following night in the Hy-Miler 100. Seventh-place results at Lee USA and Delaware in August preceded a recent runner-up finish in the Bob Webber Sr Memorial Classic 150 at Star, which gives the team three top-5 finishes this year with Thompson remaining.
For longtime fans of supermodified racing, it's been a welcome site to have the Soule 32 back on track in 2018, as the number 32 and blue color scheme have been around the sport since the early years of both Oswego Speedway and ISMA. The Soule / Seitz combo has continued to find more speed in their new super and should be a threat for the win at Thompson. Look for more success out of this group in 2019!
