SANDUSKY, OHIO – North Ridgeville, Ohio’s Dave Shullick Jr. drove his ACME Racing No. 49 to victory Friday night at Sandusky Speedway in the Fast 40 for winged supermodifieds, the first leg of the 43rd Annual Hy-Miler Nationals at the half-mile oval.
Shullick, a 24-time ISMA feature winner, started ninth in the 40-lapper and passed early race leader Tim Jedrzejek on lap 18 for the top position. He would cruise to the victory from there, crossing the finish stripe over a straightaway in front of Jedrzejek.
Mike Ordway Jr. made a late charge in the Clyde Booth No. 61 to finish third, followed by Trent Stephens and Danny Shirey.
Due to the difficulties placed on teams because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Hy-Miler Fast 40 and Nationals 100 were non-sanctioned events promoted by Sandusky Speedway. Sandusky, ISMA and Midwest Supermodified Series (MSS) officials successfully grouped together to hold the events. ISMA points were not awarded.
