WINCHESTER, N.H. — With the special non-points ISMA event Wednesday, June 9 at Seekonk Speedway now in the rearview, the big-block winged supermodified series now sets its sights on the 2021 points series opener in a return to Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H., Saturday, June 26.
The 2021 ISMA Monadnock feature will be 75 laps in length and pay a cool $3,500 to the winner. Bonus awards include a $200 Hard Charger sponsored by H&S Prototype and a $100 Last-Car Running sponsored by Greg Farren & The Snowball Gang. If needed, the rain date is scheduled for Sunday, June 27 at 2 p.m.
Monadnock is a popular New England quarter-mile oval that ISMA has been working with to host races for the last several years. The ISMA round was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, and in 2019 the race was rained out. To date, the only ISMA event held at Monadnock came on June 30, 2018, which saw Canadian Mike Lichty drive to the 75-lap feature win over New Englanders Dan Bowes and Jon McKennedy.
With Oswego Speedway weekly racing and the Midwest Supermodified Series both off on the June 26-27 weekend, ISMA officials are expecting a solid turnout of supers at the quarter-mile.
ISMA pits will open at Noon with practice starting at 2 p.m. ISMA and support class racing is slated to start at 6 p.m. More information about the race can be found on the event flyer.
