Oswego, NY - If you check the sponsors of the new ISMA Hard Charger Award in 2012 you’ll find the name Dawn Sova, A Woman of a Certain Age.
You’ll also find her full-page ad in the yearbook. Dawn is an author of 22 books and hundreds of magazine articles. She holds a PhD in English Literature. She has been published in many languages and she writes on a wide variety of subjects. If you’re not quite sure how she got involved in supermodified racing, she tells about her involvement on her website www.dawn-sova-a-woman-of-a-certain-age.com.
“A Woman of a Certain Age" signed on to sponsor the "Hard Charger Award" for two races held by the International Supermodified Association. The opening event in Waterford, Connecticut, on May 26, 2012, was rained out and postponed until June 9. The motto of ISMA, which appears across the top of the first page of the website, is "Wild, Wicked, and Fast Ground Pounding Action." Ohhhhh. How sexy is that? Does that not seem to be a perfect fit?
“For my readers who are not familiar with the concept of a supermodified race car, I suggest that you click on the link www.ismasupers.com and take a look at some pretty interesting cars. My interest in these unusual (to me) machines began when a guest bought two supermodified cars near Unity Raceway then stayed at the Herbert Grand Hotel, where I was writer in residence, mother of the owner and manager of the hotel. I was introduced to a whole new world that had a history about which I had never before given any thought. And, yes, it had all been happening in Jersey while I remained oblivious to the action! Now, here I am, "A Woman of a Certain Age" linked with a yet-to-be-identified "Hard Charger." Can it get more exciting??”
Dawn’s first Hard Charger-sponsored Award went to Johnny Benson Jr. and she is also sponsoring the award again on Sept. 2 at the ISMA Super Nationals at Oswego’s Classic weekend.
ISMA welcomes Dawn as a sponsor – a most interesting one at that!
